Valentine’s Banquet 2012

The Valentine’s Banquet is an evening of fun and great food to celebrate relationships. Invite friends and come have a great time. This year’s theme is Mexican Fiesta!
Doors open at 5pm, dinner at 5:30pm. Tickets are $15/person, available until February 5. Babysitting $5/child or $10/family (pre-purchase only). Supper will not be provided for kids, however, there will be snacks for them.
Babysitting vouchers are available (until February 5) along with tickets on Sunday mornings after the worship service.

Christmas Banquet 2011

Tickets are available this Sunday for $20 per adult. Melanie Robinson will be out in the foyer selling the tickets. Come out for a delicious catered meal, fellowship with friends, and local entertainment of all kinds from our very own congregation! Doors open at 5 pm. You don’t want to miss out on this event!
Movie Night

The Celebrations Committee is pleased to announce that in the next year the church will be hosting Movie Nights on periodic Saturdays throughout the year.

Ministry Kickoff

September 11 is Ministry Kickoff Sunday. Bible studies and small groups that have been on break for the summer resume activities, as does youth programming on Friday nights. The WMSC (Women’s Missionary Service Commission or Sewing Circle) resumes from their break over the summer. Children’s Ministries that have been on break for the summer will also start up again. Sunday School begins September 18th at 9:30 am. Look for AWANA to get going again on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. Come and find out about everything that is going on this fall.

Women and Childrenʼs Ministries Director
The Women and Childrenʼs Ministries Director position is created to provide oversight
and leadership to women and childrenʼs ministries of the Duchess Mennonite Church
(DMC) and the surrounding community. The Women and Childrenʼs Ministries Director
should be a mature Christian individual with strong leadership gifts, a team player, a
good listener, have a heart for ministry, and administrative/organizational strengths.
Job Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Childrenʼs Ministry – Working closely with existing childrenʼs ministry leaders and
volunteers, providing support and leadership.
• Womenʼs Care – Providing pastoral care to the women in our congregation and
community in formal and informal ways.
We are very much a community church, with a desire to reach families and and share
the love of Christ in tangible ways.
30 Hours per Week
Salary negotiable, based on experience

Church Picnic

The Church Picnic is coming up July 17 at the Cassils Community Center (see map below)! Off-site service starts at the usual time of 10:30 am, with a potluck meal to follow (meat is provided), and games after that. Remember your ball glove, and picnic essentials (lawn chair, hat, bug spray, sunscreen, water, picnic games).

Pizza Potluck!

Friday, June 24th, at 6 pm, we are hosting a pizza potluck for the church family to share a meal with the youth group and their families. Bring a pizza and enjoy unparalleled selection that only a potluck can offer.
This is a great opportunity to meet people and enjoy some pizza while you are at it.
Vacation Bible School
