This week has been a reminder in how much power I hold to hurt people. I look around and see pain everywhere. That\u2019s the result of sin, of living in a fallen world. But it\u2019s also something humans inflict on each other; sometimes unknowingly, and sometimes purposefully and maliciously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why do we do this? When we hurt or are angry, we\u2026turn around and hurt others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Christians we are called to something better. We all know, \u201cturn the other cheek.\u201d I don\u2019t know about you, but turning the other cheek is not the easiest option. Yet it\u2019s strangely gratifying, when I do <\/em>lay down my own hurt and let someone else \u201cwin\u201d, so to speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the Day of Prayer last Saturday, one of the things that popped into my head as I pondered how people see the body of Christ was that song, \u201cThey will Know We are Christians by our Love\u201d. People see Christ <\/em>in us when we love on people, when we don\u2019t stop so low as revenge and spite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So love. <\/em>I suppose that\u2019s fitting, considering the month of February is often focused on candy, flowers and l\u2019 amour<\/em>. Yet Christian love is so, so, so<\/em> much more than that. Dig into that.
