It’s exciting and just seems to bubble out of me every chance I get. I’ll try not to talk your ears off about it, but I figured it was probably easier to bring it up once rather than talk about it eighty-five separate times…

So quick recap of a hectic year: I applied for an online program last year, but because I had also applied to a study abroad program, I wasn’t sure what my year would look like. I was then wait-listed for the study abroad, something I’ve mentioned before, and then in a semi-miraculous turn of events, I was accepted two months before it started and ended up doing that program from September to November.

When I got home, I checked in with this other program, and as there were a couple things I needed to work on, we gave it three months and then said we’d check in again.

The “check-in-again” arrived, and I had an admissions call. For some reason, there was a lot of doubt in my mind about whether I would get in. That pesky Imposter Syndrome is particularly strong in this area. But nevertheless, during that call I heard the words everyone waits for in seasons of applications and admissions, “You are invited to the join the program at this time.” Cue the giggling and Cheshire-Cat-grinning for the rest of the morning.

There’s still a lot of moving pieces to figure out, with dates and information coming soon, but it’s an exciting step! After so many months of frustrations and uncertainty, it’s gratifying to see hard work pay off.

To me, this again points to God’s faithfulness. He sees and knows us. He takes us down the paths that he has planned for us. Still, this could have not worked out, and God would still be faithful. Him working out plans the way we like does not dictate the truth of who he is. And he is faithful.

This reminds me to take things to the Lord. When I surrender, things go better. It’s a constant, uphill battle, but we see the evidence of this in so many parts of our lives.

All in all, I’m obviously excited, but more than that, I’m grateful. New opportunities are exciting, and I’m excited to see where God takes me next.

So I have big news in my life.
