So this week – September 3, in fact – is the anniversary of me leaving on my 2-month trip to Europe. This boggles my mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A year ago to my writing this, I was probably…at work, actually. I worked the day before I left. But in the evening I was probably stress-packing and trying to make sure I had everything. \u201cWhere\u2019s my passport?\u201d \u201cI thought you had it…\u201d \u201cNo! Is it in the…\u201d trails off to run and dig through a bunch of stuff…<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve been doing a lot of reflecting in the past year on the experiences I\u2019ve had. You have seen some of that in this segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gratitude is all that comes to mind to formulate today. I\u2019m so thankful that the timing worked out for me to go to LVSA in the fall last year. I\u2019m grateful I had someone to fill in at the office for me while I was gone. I\u2019m grateful for all the wonderful, amazing people I met while traveling, and the friendships I have now. I\u2019m grateful for the comforts of home, after traveling for 3 \u00bd weeks straight to end that trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are so many songs jumping to my mind. Gratitude. God, I\u2019m just Grateful. Counting my Blessings. Those last two might be the same song. I\u2019m not sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All in all…life is an exercise in gratitude. We can mope and gripe and slog our way through life, wishing we were back somewhere we aren\u2019t or complaining about where we are now. Or we can be thankful. We can praise God for everything we have, everything He\u2019s done. Everything He is still doing, maybe even in the middle of the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I know it\u2019s not thanksgiving. But reflect on what you are grateful for.
