Hope is such an interesting thing.
Where hope is kindled, outside forces can push and shove, fight and douse, but something stays alive. It has a mind of its own, defying logic and sometimes good sense, but it remains.
And to what end?
Hope works wonders in dire situations. Once hope is lost, small trials feel different. Large trials feel different. Life feels empty.
Sometimes we look at something that seems hopeless and we want to cry, or we feel angry. Things feel wrong. We want them right.
Hope affects the way we look at things. It can affect the way we act and react to different things.
So when we put our hope in the Lord, it changes how we live. We live in expectancy of what scripture says is coming. We hope for the coming King. We hope for the perfect Heaven and Earth described in Revelation.
We put our hope not in earthly things that fail us, but in the things above that will never fail.
Psalm 25:3 “No one who hopes in the Lord will ever be put to shame.”
