Once again, I have big tests coming up. Often in my head, I target the next time in life I’m looking forward to, or tell myself how far away I am from an experience, whether is be good or bad.
I find this wastes a lot of my in-the-moment living. I spent so much time wishing life away or dreading what comes next that I miss the time I have now.
We were discussing this with the youth girls at Bible study, and I suppose it is a pretty universal experience. To “live in the moment” is a very cliché thing to say, but the reason it is cliché is because there is some truth to it.
My prayer for us, all of us, this week, is that we would focus on the small things and not the overwhelming crash of summer or the busy season inevitably coming; I pray we can focus on the little things God is doing in our everyday lives.
