What do we rely on most in the world?
I think we all know what we want our answer to be. Is it accurate? Well…maybe? But maybe not.
I’m reflecting on what I rely on as the church Wi-Fi and printer are both not cooperating for me. This job is pretty reliant on Wi-Fi and the printer; without both of those things, it’s kind of hard to do my job right. Fortunately, there is a Wi-Fi working, just not the Wi-Fi (if that makes any sense…) so I can still do most things, but the printer! What am I supposed to do about that?
It has exposed rather quickly how easy it is to take for granted these sorts of things. You don’t realize how nice it is to have everything working smoothly and without a hitch until suddenly—there is hitch.
I never seem to fully panic in these moments. I just sort of…freeze. It’s more like a dream than real life, and until my brain realizes it is real, I wander in a state of frozen-ment. (Yes, I know that’s not a real word)
As per usual, I don’t know where I’m going with this, but I’ll try to conclude in a somewhat-orderly fashion.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that while there will always be things we rely on in this world, we should remember to rely on God above anything else, because He has the power to change things that nothing on this earth can. It’s certainly harder than it sounds, but if I’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s that the more you practice something, the better you get at doing it consistently. So consistently relying on God? Sooner or later, it will become the default, not the backup.
And really, when it comes down to it, that’s what matters.
