Secretary’s Corner 46 – October 9

Darkness has no power where Jesus is. That’s kind of crazy. Jesus is the ultimate power – nothing else stands a chance!

I sometimes creep myself out wandering around buildings in the dark (the church is kind of scary when you are all alone in complete silence in the stairwell…thanks, Gorgon…) and I scurry hither and thither so I don’t have to spend overmuch time in the darker areas. And no, I won’t turn on all the lights because then I have to turn them all off…and run through the dark more. I have a weird brain.

But really, a church is one of the safest places I feel, when I’m not alone in the dark. There is something very…safe about a place of worship.

There are a lot of scary/unpleasant/dark things out there. The spiritual realm would be terrifying if you didn’t have Jesus. But I do. Jesus is there all the time and I can call on His name when I’m scared or sad, happy or hurting. Darkness has ZERO power over the name of Jesus. We can rest in complete assurance that Jesus is stronger than anything of this world or of the spiritual world.

I find this very comforting. Jesus is more powerful! He is the victorious king over darkness!
