Secretary’s Corner 48 – October 23

Skills are pretty mind boggling. The fact that each human has things they are more or less skilled at, things that they can work on to improve, and yet everyone is different, is crazy.

It is all so interesting. Some people have crazy musical talent and perfect pitch, and other people can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but they have photographic memories and can remember things astoundingly well. Some people have a natural inclination toward calculations, others have an eye for estimation.

It’s so cool to me that our Heavenly Father makes us all unique, different from each other, so each person has their own skills, quirks, flaws…all the things that make us, us

I think it’s far too easy to focus on the flaws and weaknesses of others instead of the strengths. Instead of seeing the amazing things in each person, we get upset that they are as imperfect as we are.

We are called to live lives reflecting Jesus. So I would encourage you, the next time someone’s flaws are getting really irritating, remember their skills too. Make note of the natural gifts God has given them. Because there is always something to find there.
