Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a wonderful, joyful, peaceful morning full of hope and love. Or, if you’re reading this after the fact, (which would be perfectly understandable) I hope your Christmas was full of all those things!

I think it does a really good job of highlighting a very real ache in the human heart.
Sometimes it feels like this life will never be enough. Like it just can’t satisfy all the cravings of the heart. Whether someone believes in the Good News of Jesus or not, I think deep down this is something we all feel. We all want something more.

Every so often, I go back and read my old writing. Sometimes that’s my short stories from elementary school, novel beginnings from when I was thirteen, or Secretary’s Corners from last year. I usually have one of two reactions. “I wrote this?!” or “I wrote this?”

Last Sunday was Regional Prayer. I went in the evening, partially because I was playing guitar, and partially because I wanted to. I find, though, that often I don’t feel like going…and I’m never quite sure why. I get a lot out of it whenever I do go, but I always seem to be outlandishly tired, or I’ll mysteriously get a headache…
